Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications

Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for the Brian Duperreault Endowed Chair in Risk Management and Insurance. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Risk Management, Insurance, or closely-related field, and will have an established record of high-quality scholarship and teaching in their field. Industry experience is a plus. The appointment is at the Full Professor rank. Applicants ranked at Associate Professor with a strong case for promotion to Full may be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Duperreault Chair will provide leadership for the Risk Management and Insurance Program in the Finance Department. The successful candidate will teach a reduced (2/2) load. The Chair will develop curriculum and mentor faculty and students in the undergraduate, Masters, and continuing education programs in Risk Management and Insurance. The Duperreault Chair is expected to produce high-quality, peer-reviewed research in their field and serve as editor of the Journal of Applied Risk Management and Insurance (JARMI). The successful candidate will develop and maintain industry relationships through our Academy of Risk Management and Insurance that will raise the profile of the Program, leading to scholarship and career opportunities for our students.

Evidence of an established, high-quality research program and teaching excellence in the field of Risk Management and Insurance.
