Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications

Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Computer Science has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester.

Adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening. Courses available for adjunct staffing may include: Introduction to Programming, Internet Application Development, Discrete Structures, Principles of Programming Languages

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach a specified course, prepare course materials, report grades, provide support and guidance to students and offer three hours of office time each week for each course.

Secondary Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related major, and knowledge of the JAVA programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

-PhD or are ABD in Computer Science
- Previous college level teaching experience particularly in freshman and sophomore level computer science programming courses)
- Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling including daytime and/or evening courses as demand indicates.
