Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications

Saint Joseph’s University in the Department of Health Services has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach in the area of autism. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening.

Some of the courses available for teaching include courses on Autism, Autism Treatment, Advocacy, and other autism-related areas. It is also possible that adjunct faculty may assist with practicum requirements at the Kinney Center for Autism Education and support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct faculty are expected to teach specified traditional (in class) or online course(s); prepare course materials; and provide support and guidance to students.

Secondary Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Health Behavior, Behavioral Principles, Allied Health or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD or PhD one of these areas, previous teaching experience, and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

May require standing for long periods of time and carrying course materials. Classes may be day, evening, weekday, weeknight, on campus, on-line and/or hybrid.
