Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications

Saint Josephs University’s Graduate Criminal Justice Program has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester.

Knowledge of the specific course subject matter is essential. Professionals with experience and professional certification in the designated subject area will be given preference.

Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered in the evening, Saturdays, and online.

Courses available for adjunct staffing may include:
Research Methods, Theory, Professional Writing, and Ethics
Federal Law Enforcement
Intelligence and Crime Analysis
Behavior Management
Homeland Security
Behavior Analysis

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach a specified course
Prepare course materials, including course syllabus
Provide support and guidance to students
Evaluate student performance
Participate in Assurance of Learning practices
Work with Graduate Program Director
Learn and/or update on the use of Blackboard

Secondary Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree in related field or law degree (Juris Doctorate).

Significant professional experience (e.g. high level, long tenure) in the subject area.

Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.

Previous teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

May require standing for long periods of time, talking for long periods of time and carrying course materials.
